Recently, Vice President Zhao Yutao inspected the School of Foreign Languages, offering guidance on completing the School's annual goals and priority tasks. The School Party and Administrative leadership, as well as office directors, attended the meeting. At the meeting, SFL Party Secretary Xie Zhifang, on behalf of the Party Committee of SFL, gave a review of the School work in terms of politics, ideology, organization, ethical standards, discipline, and other aspects. Dean Li Chongyue reported on the School’s annual administrative work concerning department merging, disciplinary development, National First-class Undergraduate Program construction, and personnel training. After hearing these reports, Vice President Zhao Yutao commended the achievements made by SFL’s current leadership.
At last, Zhao Yutao offered targeted guidance on the School work and raised some requirements. Firstly, he advised that the school leadership should elevate their political stance, strengthen the leading role of Party building, and study the guiding principles of the 20th Party National Congress in depth. He stressed that they should take the lead, emphasize the characteristics and highlights of Party building and enhance communication with the university competent departments. Besides, the primary Party organizations should be strengthened in terms of cohesion and unity. Secondly, the School leadership should be ready to take on their responsibilities and promote the high-quality development of the School work. In terms of personnel training, they should identify its features, plan high-quality awards and carry out organized scientific research. Thirdly, he reiterated that the school leadership should always put teachers and students first and effectively address the problems of great concern to teachers and students. Fourthly, the School leadership should break new ground in enhancing their administrative and governing capacity. Finally, he highlighted that the school leadership needs to adhere to secure development, be well aware of the bottom line and take measures to ensure the prevention and control of Covid-19 and the security and stability of ideological work.
