Days ago, at the 6th “LSCAT” Jiangsu Translation and Interpreting Contest, SFL students won 7 first prizes, 23 second prizes, 19 third prizes and 20 excellent prizes. At the Jiangsu rematch of the 9th National English Interpreting Contest, 1 student won a first prize and several students won other prizes.
By participating in professional contest, students may not only well test their command of professional knowledge but also effectively broaden their horizons and cultivate their professional practical ability. In recent years, in order to promote the students’ professional quality, practical ability and innovative spirit, to cultivate foreign language talents with practical ability and professional application, the School of Foreign Languages has achieved remarkable results by focusing on improving the quality of talent training, laying stress on top-level design and highlighting major construction. As a result, SFL students have actively participated in professional competitions and have won quite a few awards for high-level and high-quality foreign competitions at the municipal, the provincial and the national level. With the efforts to “promote learning through participating in contests” and “promote teaching through participating in contests”, we have produced a great many foreign language talents for the national “Belt and Road” initiative.
