On July 8, School of Foreign Languages held the Preliminary Review Meeting on Undergraduate Program (2020) in the School Conference Room. Deputy Director Xue Hongli of the Teaching Affairs Office and Director Li Puhua of the Teaching and Research Section under the Teaching Affairs Office attended the meeting, together with the whole School administration and deans of all undergraduate departments as well as heads of two College English Departments. Dean Li Chongyue presided over the review.
At the review meeting, deans of the Japanese Department, the English Department and the TESOL Department each reported the manuscripts of their undergraduate programs. The heads of two College English Departments introduced the overall structure of and 2020 Curriculum for College English teaching of Jiangsu University. After hearing the reports, Xue Hongli and Li Puhua voiced their opinions and made their suggestions on the manuscript programs. They also answered the various questions raised by the participants patiently. Then Dean Li Chongyue outlined the schedule for the polishing and perfection of the drafts in the following period of time. Party Committee Secretary Xie Zhifang highlighted the concrete requirements for integrating the ideological and political education into the undergraduate programs. He required all participants to deeply understand the difference between curriculum ideology and politics and the ideological and political curriculum, to exert their best effort to exploit the ideological and political educational elements in the foreign language courses, to carry out the ideological and political education in the course of foreign language teaching through specific contents rather than abstract theoretical instilling.
