At 8:30, September 2nd, School of Foreign Languages held the Opening Ceremony for Grade 2019 Freshmen in the Lecture Hall of the School of Continuing Education. School Party Committee Secretary Lu Yunsong, Dean Li Chongyue, Deputy Party Committee Secretary & Deputy Dean Xia Jianru, Deputy Dean Su Jianhong, Deputy Dean Wang Ying, Students Office Director Zhu Yanjie, and Youth League Deputy Secretary Ding Yongping attended the ceremony. The meeting was presided over by Deputy Party Committee Secretary Xia Jianru.
At first, School of Foreign Languages Dean Professor Li Chongyue delivered a speech. He introduced to the freshmen the basic information, discipline construction, specialty setup of the School, extended his expectations for the freshmen and encouraging them to quickly integrate into the new campus life quite different from their middle school life.
What came next is a speech delivered by freshman representative Wang Yuting of Japanese Class 1901. On behalf of all the freshmen, Wang Yuting solemnly pledged to the School leadership and staff that they will strictly abide the University rules and regulations, work hard, devote particular care to good manners, attach importance to solidarity and cooperation, and be learned, realistic and virtuous students of Jiangsu University.
The Opening Ceremony heralded the advent of their college life, deepened their understanding of the coming life on campus, and setting the orientation for the future four years. After the meeting, freshmen said that they had a better idea about their majors, and they would quickly adapt themselves to the new life and devote themselves to the colorful college life.
