On the afternoon of April 11, to promote the application of artificial intelligence technology in foreign language education and comprehensively enhance the digital intelligence literacy and course development capabilities of foreign language teachers, the School held a special training workshop titled "AI-Empowered Course Development" in Room 2207 of Jingjiang Building. As arranged by the Academic Affairs Office, the training featured a special report delivered by a senior expert from the Digital Intelligence Research Center of Chaoxing Group. The workshop was chaired by Hua Houkun, Director of the Basic Public English Teaching Department. Faculty members of the School gathered to explore innovative pathways for foreign language education in the context of digital intelligence.

The training primarily focused on the application of the FanYa platform's AI Workbench and AI Teaching Assistant, the construction of knowledge maps, problem maps, goal maps, and ideological-political education maps, as well as the presentation of these knowledge maps from both teaching and student perspectives. Centered on the integrated innovation of "AI + Education," the training employed a multidimensional approach that combined theoretical explanations with scenario-based practices, systematically analyzing how artificial intelligence technology is revolutionizing teaching models in higher education.
The keynote expert integrated core scenarios such as course development, classroom teaching, and teacher-student interaction to demonstrate the deep integration solutions of the AI Teaching Assistant platform with teacher accounts and the application innovations of "knowledge maps" in educational contexts. The expert introduced the platform's technical architecture, which integrates multi-source teaching resources, analyzes learning behavior data, and leverages the DeepSeek large model to build an intelligent interactive system, comprehensively illustrating the pathways to achieving intelligent Q&A and personalized teaching guidance. Through immersive experiences with key features such as AI course design and visual analysis of learning conditions, the participating faculty gained a deeper understanding of the transformative power of artificial intelligence technology in reshaping educational paradigms.
The Ministry of Education will further promote the innovative reform of higher education teaching empowered by artificial intelligence. Teachers are the decisive force in advancing higher education teaching reform. This training workshop marks the third session organized by the School to enhance teachers' digital and intelligent literacy. Previously, through inviting experts for on-campus lectures and organizing teaching salon activities, the School showcased specific application scenarios where AI can enhance foreign language teaching and learning. The School will continue to strengthen foreign language teachers' awareness and capabilities in utilizing digital and intelligent technologies, encouraging them to enhance the effectiveness of foreign language education both inside and outside the classroom through these technologies, and promoting the comprehensive advancement of AI-assisted teaching, research, and learning in the field of foreign language education at our university.
