From April 29 to 30, 2025, a delegation from the School of Foreign Languages at Jiangsu University, led by Dean Li Chongyue, Party Committee Secretary Zhang Mingping, and MTI Education Center Director Feng Ruizhen, visited the School of Foreign Languages at Shaanxi Normal University and the Graduate Institute of Interpretation and Translation at Xi’an International Studies University. The research focused on MTI talent cultivation and discipline construction, aiming to learn from advanced experiences and broaden development perspectives.

On April 29, at the School of Foreign Languages of Shaanxi Normal University, Dean Liu Quanguo chaired an exchange meeting, with Party Committee Secretary Dong Zengyun and Vice Dean Pang Wei participating in the discussions. The two sides engaged in in-depth exchanges on topics such as MTI talent cultivation models, curriculum system optimization, practical platform development, and regional discipline construction. Dean Li Chongyue introduced the discipline development and MTI education at the School of Foreign Languages of Jiangsu University, expressing hope to learn from Shaanxi Normal University’s strengths. Dean Liu Quanguo shared innovative measures in MTI talent cultivation at Shaanxi Normal University, such as deepening university-enterprise cooperation and promoting interdisciplinary integration. Party Committee Secretary Dong Zengyun shared insights on the coordinated development of discipline construction and Party building. The two sides also exchanged views on specific issues, including faculty development and enhancing students’ practical abilities, providing new ideas for optimizing talent cultivation programs.

On April 30, the research team visited the Graduate Institute of Interpretation and Translation at Xi’an International Studies University for a thematic exchange on MTI talent cultivation. Vice Dean Zhao Yihui, who presides over the institute’s work, introduced the distinctive strengths of translation talent cultivation at the university, including rich experiences in professional curriculum design, internship base development, international exchanges and cooperation, and translation practice. The delegation from the School of Foreign Languages of Jiangsu University engaged in in-depth discussions on cultivation processes and alignment with industry demands, aiming to explore more market-oriented and effective optimization paths for MTI education.
