On March 19, Zhou Zhaozheng, Vice Principal of Jiangsu Province Zhenjiang High School, was invited to the School of Foreign Languages to deliver a special lecture titled "Promoting the Spirit of Educators and Fostering the Growth of Young Teachers" for English education majors. The lecture was chaired by Li Xia, the program coordinator for English teacher education, and attended by over 140 prospective teachers.
At the beginning of the lecture, Zhou Zhaozheng started with an overview of the current landscape of high school education and college admissions. Drawing on his extensive experience in educational administration, he provided an in-depth analysis of the career development pathways for teachers. He emphasized that teachers are not merely transmitters of knowledge but also guides for students' growth, urging the prospective teachers to establish career goals and clarify their development directions as early as possible.
He then elaborated on four core themes with vivid examples: promoting the spirit of educators to define the direction of teacher growth; learning from the experiences of educational pioneers to explore personal development paths; adapting to the demands of the times to formulate strategies for teacher growth; and implementing the concepts of the new curriculum reform to enhance the quality of classroom teaching. Finally, he shared three earnest expectations for the prospective teachers: maintaining a lifelong learning mindset, honing the professional ability to understand students, and adhering to the educational mission of fostering virtue through education.
Principal Zhou’s lecture was both profound and accessible, combining theoretical depth with practical relevance. It provided invaluable guidance for the prospective teachers in their professional development.

After the lecture, the School presented Vice Principal Zhou with a letter of appointment. This event not only served as a significant part of deepening cooperation between the School and Jiangsu Province Zhenjiang High School, but also represented an important step by both parties to strengthen the connection between higher education and basic education.

At present, SFL is actively advancing the teacher education accreditation process. This lecture is one of a series of activities organized to enhance the competence of prospective teachers and support the accreditation efforts. The school will continue to invite more experts and scholars from the field of education to deliver high-quality lectures and training sessions, providing further support for the growth of prospective teachers and empowering them to become educators of the new era who embody noble professional ethics, solid expertise, and outstanding teaching capabilities.
