On the evening of August 29, Z201 of the School of Foreign Languages was crowded with the audience. Nearly 70 English for Education majors and English majors were listening to the lecture titled “Teacher Certification Examination and its preparation” by Dr. Zhong Yongwei from the School of Teacher Education College, Jiangsu University.
Dr. Zhong started his lecture with an analysis of the career prospects of teachers and the remuneration for teachers in the basic education stage. Dr. Zhong gave a comprehensive and detailed explanation from the relevant aspects of teacher qualification examination policy, examination curriculum, examination content, examination questions, examination process and preparation strategy. His lecture pointed out a way to success for the candidates in their preparation stage.
In October 2011, the Department of Teacher Education of the Ministry of Education and the National Education Examination Authority jointly issued the “Standards for Teacher Qualification Examinations for Primary and Secondary Schools and Kindergartens (Tentative Version)”. These standards are the national criteria for teachers’ professional access, the basic requirements for teachers in primary and secondary schools and kindergartens, and the basis on which to carry out the qualification examinations for teachers of primary and secondary schools and kindergartens. They aim at strengthening the construction of teachers in primary and secondary schools and kindergartens, improve the overall quality of the teaching staff, complete the teacher qualification system, strictly control the employment of teachers, and promote the professionalization of teachers.
