Recently, after several rounds of formal and substantive review, JSU School of Foreign Languages Deputy Dean Dr. Wu Peng was successfully elected to the Editorial Committee of the Springer Argumentation Library. The Springer is an international authoritative publishing house. Wu was also invited to be the reviewer of the Argumentation Library.
Springer Publishing House is one of the world’s largest science and technology press. The Argumentation Library is the only authoritative book series that have been continuously published for nearly 40 years in the international academic circles of argumentation studies. It enjoys a high visibility in the field of argumentation studies, rhetoric, logic, discourse, pragmatics and other fields closely related to argumentation practice. Professor Frans van Eemeren, President of the International Society for the Study of Argumentation, founded this book series and has been serving as its chief editor. Currently, the seven international members of the Editorial Board are all well-known experts from different continents in the international community of argumentation studies and related disciplines. Wu Peng is the only editorial board member from China (including China’s mainland, Taiwan and Hong Kong) (one of the two members from Asia).
Before this, Wwu Peng had been elected to the Editorial Board and served as paper reviewer of two periodicals respectively titled Argumentation (indexed by both SSCI and A&HCI) and Journal of Argumentation in Context (indexed by both ESCI and Scopus). Both are authoritative periodicals in the international community of argumentation studies. He edited and published two “Special issues on Argumentation Studies in China”. The election of Wu into the Editorial Board and his serving as a reviewer once again prove the research strength and international popularity of the argumentation research team of Jiangsu University.
