Subsequently, deputy deans of the School of Foreign Languages each made a speech on their respective responsibilities, on which leaders of the University departments offered their opinions and suggestions.
After listening to Li’s report, President Yan Xiaohong sang a high praise for the achievements of the School of Foreign Languages. He pointed out that the School of Foreign Languages plays a special role in the three-stage development of the University, a particularly important role in the internationalization of the University. The discipline of foreign languages contributes to the comprehensive development of the University, not only guaranteeing the promotion of the foreign language level of the talents of the whole University, but also offering support to the faculty' professional development. While affirming the achievements, he also pointed out the shortcomings in the discipline and specialty construction of the SFL. He demanded that the SFL should actively explore and optimize the training programs of the foreign language discipline, further improve the quality of talent cultivation, and take measures to motivate the teaching staff. According to the President, besides their teaching work the faculty should actively engage in scientific research and improve their comprehensive quality so that every JSU student would benefit from the English language course offered by the faculty of the SFL.
