On the afternoon of November 7, the School of Foreign Languages held the 9th Faculty Teaching Contest in Z101. The panel of the contest comprises Vice President Chen Hong, Feng Jun, Secretary General of the Party Committee for Staffs of Teaching & Research Offices and Director of the Center for Faculty Development, Deputy Dean Su Jianhong & Li Chongyue, University-level Teaching Superintendent Xu Kangmei & Zhang Qi’an, and Wang Ying, Dean of the Japanese Department. The classroom instruction was enthused by the contestants, teacher observers, and cooperative students.
According to JSU Rules for the 9th Faculty Teaching Contest, the School of Foreign Languages had made an extensive publicity of the contest and mobilized the faculty to register for the contest. 9 contestants were finally elected through the department tryouts to participate in the SFL contest. They are respectively from the English Department, the Japanese Department, College English Teaching Department (I), and College English Teaching Department (II) and the newly found Department of European Languages.
With meticulous preparation in advance, the contestants fully demonstrated the grace of the SFL faculty by giving classroom instruction energetically, in diversified forms, lively language, and standard pronunciation and intonation, and by making the best of multimedia device to devise their courseware, by adopting the advanced teaching ideas.
The fierce contest granted a total of 1 first prize, 3 second prizes, and 5 third prizes. The most excellent prize winners will be recommended to participate in the University-level contest.
