Days ago, SFL faculty Ms. Yao Wei won a first prize for faculty of English undergraduate majors at Jiangsu final of the 4th China Foreign Languages Micro-lecture Contest jointly sponsored and organized by China Society for Higher Education and Higher Education Press. Foreign language teachers from colleges and universities and higher vocational colleges vied to attend the contest. Ms. Yao won the prize for her lecture titled “Showing Consideration in Business Letter” featuring novel design and excellent creation. This is also the best result that has ever been created by the SFL faculty at the Micro-lecture Contest.
“China Foreign Languages Micro-lecture Contest” is aimed at deepening the educational and teaching reform, enriching the educational and teaching resources, and promoting the connotative development of the English teaching in tertiary schools. Four contests have been held by now. It is the foreign language micro-lecture contest of the highest level for colleges and universities and higher vocational colleges in China. The School of Foreign Languages has long attached importance to this contest, actively organized excellent faculty to attend the contest, and promoted to the use of micro-lecture in foreign language instruction with the purpose of upgrading the teaching device and enhancing the teaching quality. Yao’s prize is not only the first first prize that has been won by the SFL faculty at the provincial final, but more importantly it is one of the three first prizes of Jiangsu province. It is a great achievement to the SFL, and was thought highly of by the organizers of the contest. (School of Foreign Languages)
