On May 27, Zhuang Xiaoming at the School of Foreign Languages won a grand prize for the faculty for English majors at Jiangsu finals of the 9th “SFLEP” National Foreign Language Teaching Competition. She will participate in the national finals for the faculty for English majors to be held in the latter half of 2018 at Shanghai on behalf of Jiangsu province. This is the best result that has been achieved by JSU faculty at the competition.
Jiangsu finals of the 9th “SFLEP” National Foreign Language Teaching Competition was held at Jiangsu University of Technology (Changzhou) from May 25 to May 27. 49 competitors from colleges and universities in Jiangsu province participated in the finals. At all events of the two-day competition, including lecturing, lecture interpretation and QA, Zhuang Xiaoming at the School of Foreign Languages came out first all the time and finally won the grand prize for the faculty for English majors. She also won the only prize for the most popular competitors at the students’ poll on the spot. 12 panelists at the competition all voted yeas to Zhuang Xiaoming for the grand prize for the faculty for English majors.
Since its inception in 2010, the “SFLEP” National Foreign Language Teaching Competition has been held for 9 times. It has become a specialized English teaching competition of the largest scale, at the highest level and with the greatest influence in China. The competition encompasses the English teaching for institutions of higher learning of all types and at all levels, including the instruction of English to both English majors and non-English majors, to both regular institutions of higher learning and vocational schools.
