On May 20, SFL undergraduate English major Dong Yuyang (Supervisor: Li Chongyue) won a first prize for C-E translation for undergraduates at the 4th “LSCAT” Jiangsu Translation Competition.
The “LSCAT” Jiangsu Translation Competition was jointly held by the LSCAT Center, Jiangsu Translators Association and Foreign Language Teaching and Research Association for Jiangsu Institutions of Higher Learning. The competition is aimed at meet ever increasing demand on foreign exchanges of Jiangsu province, oriented towards cultivating high-quality language service talents in line with the national “Belt and Road” Initiative and the strategy of “Chinese Culture Going Global”. This year’s competition has embraced more than 1000 students from colleges and universities at different levels and of different kinds in Jiangsu province. The excellent performance of our students at the fierce competition testifies to the effort that has been made by the School of Foreign Languages in cultivating the practical language ability and the critical thinking ability.
