Days ago, the 3rd School of Foreign Languages Japanese Dubbing Competition was held in J210. Dean Professor Chen Hong of the School of Foreign Languages, head of the Zhenjiang Center at Sakura International Japanese, and students and the faculty of the Japanese Department participated in the competition.
Immediately the notice on the competition was issued, students of each class concerned were enthused to register for the competition. A total of 27 competitors in 12 teams from Japanese majors of the first, second and third year as well as the School of Computer and Science and Communication Engineering attended the competition. It is also the tryout for the 6th “Casino·New World Cup” Jiangsu Institutions of Higher Learning Japanese Dubbing Competition. The winners of JU tryout will participate in the provincial competition to be held in Jiangsu Normal University on May 19 on behalf of Jiangsu University.
At the opening ceremony, Dean Chen Hong delivered a congratulation speech on behalf of the School of Foreign Languages, in which she encourages the competitors to create good results at the competition and seize the opportunity to raise their interest in Japanese learning. Then the competitors started to dub the episode of a Japanese film or teleplay they have chosen for the competition in the order determined by drawing lots. The competitors of each team did wonderful dubbing on their chosen episodes in beautiful Japanese utterance. The competition was carried out fervently and warm applauses were heard from time to time at excellent performance of the competitors. The dubbing on Japanese cross talks and Chinese films and teleplays deeply impressed the audience. Through fierce rivalry, Yang Bo, Zheng Nuoya and Zhang Xuanjun from Class 1501 won a first prize for their precise and beautiful pronunciation exhibited in their perfect dubbing on the Japanese version of “Flirting Scholar”. Class 1501 and Class 1502 won a prize for organization. In the end, the Japanese expert Okuuchi Kazuki and the Japanese Department Dean Associate Professor Wang Ying commented on the whole competition. The 11 judges that include Dean Chen Hong presented the awards to the winners. In addition the Zhenjiang Center at Sakura International Japanese provided the prizes for the audience.
In 2018, the “Casino Cup·New World Cup” Jiangsu Institutions of Higher Learning Japanese Dubbing Competition succeeds the “Casino Cup” Jiangsu Institutions of Higher Learning Japanese Dubbing Competition was initiated in 2013. The competition is sponsored by Casino (China) Trade Co., Ltd and New World Education Group. It is undertaken by Jiangsu Society for Foreign Language Teaching and Research. Currently it is the most influential, well-recognized and authoritative Japanese competition in Jiangsu province.
