From May 7 to 14, in order to ready JU students for the coming English exams, the Clinic for Foreign Language Learning and the Center for International Language Courses at the School of Foreign Languages held in J302 “Large-scale Series Lectures on Preparation for English Exams”.
There are four lectures in all, respectively on the preparation for the CET-4, the CET-6, the National Graduate Entrance Examination in English, and the IETLS. The lectures are respectively given by Ding Weiwei, Cai Shanshan, Wu Aihui and Kong Lingxuan, leaders of the relevant teaching groups of the School of Foreign Languages. In their lectures, each teacher meticulously expounded and analyzed the principal types of exam questions, the law underlying the design of the exam questions, the misunderstandings of examinees, and the strategies for exam preparation by resorting to their teaching and guiding experiences of many years. Their lectures have attracted nearly 1,000 students on campus to attend. Each time the lecture was given, all seats in the venue would be taken by the students, who would applaud the enlightening and effective lectures from time to time.
The scheduled“Large-scale Series Lectures on Preparation for English Exams” are to be held once a semester. They are one of the significant measures that have been taken by the School of Foreign Languages to actually carry forward the spirit of “Exercising our ingenuity in helping you along”. The series lectures are aimed at providing JU students and faculties with well-prepared and constantly updating excellent English teaching services that will help expand the English teaching services to the whole university and speed up the advancement of the internationalization of the University.
