On May 10, a Japanese delegation of three including President Sekido Masami of Sekido Co., Ltd visited Jiangsu University to discuss cooperation matters. The School of Foreign Languages Dean Professor Chen Hong and the International Office Deputy Director Jiang Yonghua, etc. met with the Japanese visitors in the School Meeting Room.
Dean Chen Hong first extended a heartfelt welcome to the Japanese delegation headed by President Sekido, and wishes to conduct cooperation with Sekido Co., Ltd. Chen said, the School of Foreign Languages has long cherished the notion of “integrating the classroom instruction with extracurricular and overseas activities”, and made efforts to cultivate the intercultural communicative capability of our students. In advancing the construction of overseas practice bases that uphold the philosophy of “three in one (practice, overseas study and employment), the Japanese Department has been actively exploring the seamless integration of the vacation overseas practice base based on the needs and professional development of students. Then Deputy Director Jiang Yonghua said, the overseas study is a cultural behavior. Just as two great Chinese leaders Zhou Enlai and Deng Xiaoping taught us, the overseas study covers any deed of learning advanced culture, knowledge and technology in a foreign state associated with the patriotic ambition of an overseas student. Since studying abroad helps build the cultural attribute of a youth, we give support to students pursuing further studies or occupational development in Japan during their undergraduate years. We hope that the Japanese Department of Jiangsu University and Sekido Co., Ltd will soon establish the talent cultivation model featuring the “university-enterprise cooperation”
President Sekido detailed the purpose of their visit, the current development of his cooperation, and extended the wishes that everything would go right with the cooperation between the two parties. He would do his best to cooperate with Jiangsu University in constructing the overseas practice base and thus promote the establishment of the overseas employment base of the Japanese Department.
President Sekido and his delegates also took the lunch time to give a lecture to all students of the Japanese major and students from other majors who have chosen a Japanese course. In the lecture he gave a detailed introduction to the requirements for talented Japanese graduates of the luxury industry in Japan. He also answered the questions raised by the students and encouraged them to improve their comprehensive Japanese ability.
