On January 11th, School of Foreign Languages of Jiangsu University convened an expert consultation meeting for the foreign language disciplines in the fifth-floor conference room. Prof. He Shanhua, Dean of College of International Studies of Yangzhou University, Prof. Zeng Jingting, Dean of School of Foreign Languages at Jiangsu University of Science and Technology, Research Professor Xu Bu, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Institute of Global Development and Security of Jiangsu University, along with five professors from School of Foreign Languages, were invited to attend the consultation meeting. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Li Chongyue. Prof. Li Chongyue first briefly introduced the development of the foreign language disciplines in the school, and then he reported in detail the specific content of the discipline organization, including the characteristics, teams, and construction goals and measures of the various sub-disciplines over the past three years. On the basis of teachers' opinions, in order to adapt to the general trend of the development of foreign language disciplines and the current situation of the school's faculty, the direction of "Country and Region Studies" was added, while the "Japanese Language and Literature" direction was cancelled, and the faculty of the Japanese language discipline was integrated into the directions of "Foreign Linguistics and Applied Linguistics" and "Country and Region Studies" . The experts present fully endorsed the programme of discipline sorting, and also put forward constructive opinions on further improvement of the programme. (School of Foreign Languages)
