On one of the first ten days of September, the Publicity Department of Zhenjiang Party Committee promulgated the list of scholars elected into the 2nd group of “Five Batches” Talents and Youth Cultural Talents. Associate Professor Wu Peng, dean assistant of the School of Foreign Languages, JSU is on the name list.
The “Five Batches” Talents and Youth Cultural Talents are two publicity and cultural talent cultivation projects launched by the Publicity Department of the Zhenjiang Party Committee all over the City of Zhenjiang under the banner of implementing the gist of the Publicity, Ideology and Culture Meeting respectively of Zhenjiang city and Jiangsu province. The Government has planned to spend three years cultivating excellent talents from the circles of theoretical studies, journalism, press, literature and art, and business and administration, making effort to turn these talents into the leading figures and the backbones in all aspects of the publicity and the cultural administration of the whole city.
The 2nd group of talents are selected from those of the publicity and cultural administration of and the governmental offices concerned directly under the Municipal Government and the nongovernmental organizations concerned, including cultural employees from the private sectors and the nongovernmental organizations emerging after the reform and opening up devoted to the publicity and cultural work. 10 “Five Batches” Talents and 15 Youth Cultural Talents are eventually chosen by means of total quantity control and competitive election.
