September 6, Professor Wu Qinghong, a vice president of Zhenjiang Institute of Pearl S. Buck Studies and president of Jiangsu University Institute of Pearl S. Buck Studies, headed a delegation made up of Professor Rui Yueying and Professor Shi Huige, two vice presidents of Jiangsu University Institute of Pearl S. Buck Studies, and Associate Professor Li Xinchao, secretary general of Jiangsu University Institute of Pearl S. Buck Studies, as well as 14 faculties and students of the School of Foreign Languages and the School of Liberal Arts, to attend the 2017 China Zhenjiang International Symposium on Pearl S. Buck Studies jointly sponsored by the Municipal Government of Zhenjiang and Zhenjiang Institute of Pearl S. Buck Studies. Professor Ren Naifei, curator of Jiangsu University Library and Cui Jingui, proprietor of the Jiangsu University Periodical Office joined the delegation as distinguished members.
Researchers from both at home and abroad delivered speeches highlighting the theme of cultural exchanges concerning Pearl S. Buck of this symposium comprising of parallel sessions and a plenary meeting. All faculties and students of Jiangsu University spoke at the meeting, expounding the main ideas of their papers submitted to the symposium in advance. They also had an extensive exchange of ideas with Chinese and foreign specialists and scholars at the symposium. As chair of the third parallel session, Professor Wu Qinghong delivered an excellent summary report to the plenary meeting. Jiangsu University’s faculties and students were highly praised by the participants at the symposium for their contribution to and performance at the meeting.
