September 23, the “4th Japanese Composition-Speech Contest” was held in Songjiang campus of Shanghai International Studies University. JSU students of the Japanese Department headed by Associate Professor Liu Shoujun attended the contest and created good results.
Sponsored by Shibuya Scholarship Foundation, Fukuyama Transporting Co., Ltd, and Shanghai Fushan International Logistics Co., Ltd, the contest was jointly undertaken by Omaru Transportation Corporation of Japan, Hiroshima University, and Shanghai International Studies University. The theme of the contest is “transportation”. This year’s contest offers 1 Most Excellent Prize, 6 Excellent Prizes, 1 Consul General at Shanghai Special Prize, and 1 Gold and 1 Silver Group Prize of, namely, the Omaru Transportation Corporation Award. The contest comprises 3 links, that is content revision, live presentation and Q&A. The compositions submitted by Japanese majors of Jiangsu University were commended by the sponsor for their high quality, having thus been granted the Gold Prize of the Omaru Transportation Corporation Award. Li Meihui from Japanese Class 1401 participated in the speech contest on behalf of JSU and won an excellent prize. In addition, 4 more compositions by the Japanese majors are ranked excellent by the review panelists.
The School of Foreign Language has long attached importance to “enhancing learning by taking part in contests”, actively created opportunities for students to “go off campus” to attend contests of all kinds, and taken pains to enhance the learning enthusiasm of the Japanese majors and enhance their comprehensive ability of the Japanese language.
