“14th Jiangsu University Graduates Simulated International Academic Exchange Competition”concludes successfully

    May 23, the final and awarding ceremony of the 14^th Jiangsu University Graduates Simulated International Academic Exchange Competition were held in the 1^st Lecture Hall of the International Meeting Center. Research Fellow Shi Weidong, a vice president and PhD supervisor, attended the final competition and delivered a speech. Professor Chen Hong, dean of the School of Foreign Languages, Professor Li Chongyue, a deputy dean of the School of Foreign Languages, Deputy Director Wan Youling of the Graduate School, Dean Assistant Cui Yong of the Oversea Education College, foreign experts Chris. D and Frankie together attended the competition. Dean Chen Xin of the Graduate English Teaching Department supervised the whole competition and commented on the excellent performance of the graduates.

    Vice President Shi Weidong spoke high of the graduate English teaching reform and its implementation in Jiangsu University, encouraging all the graduates to work harder, broaden their vision, and strive to be an enterprising, vigorous and academically virtuous international talent.

    This year’s simulated international academic conference was prepared and held in accordance with the strict regulations on such meetings. 1200 graduates from 20 classes of the same grade attended the competition that lasted for nearly a month. The competition contents include academic poster writing, conference element writing and oral presentation. All contests were done according to the standardized criteria for an international conference. 6 groups entered the fierce final competition, where participants from the School of Automotive and Traffic Engineering and the Overseas Education College won a first prize.

     The 2017 competition is an unprecedentedly grand occasion, at which the graduates are greatly enthused. The posters for the competition have been reprinted for several times. The competition creates a platform for further promoting the academic atmosphere, boosting the academic exchanges and heralding the academic innovation, thus escalating the progress of the internationalization of Jiangsu University.
