On November 30th, the School of Foreign Languages held a 2024 Graduate Student Support Gathering in the Third Lecture Hall of the Convention Center to strengthen students’ confidence and encourage them to persevere in the postgraduate entrance examination. The event was attended by Zhang Mingping, the Party Secretary of the school, Li Chongyue, the Dean, Wang Lei, the Deputy Party Secretary, Li Jiajun, the Vice Dean, Ma Ruifang from the Workers’ Committee, counselors, and students applying for 2024 Postgraduate Entrance Examination. The event was hosted by Wang Lei, the Deputy Party Secretary and Vice Dean.
Li Chongyue talked about the high recognition of the professional competence of the School of Foreign Languages students by external experts. He hoped that students would withstand the pressure, move forward courageously, and showcase their best abilities. He agreed with the student that the next year would be set as the first year of their master's program.
Wang Lei analyzed the current situation of the postgraduate entrance examination, pointing out that opportunities and challenges coexist. She encouraged everyone to maintain confidence, persevere, and assured that the school would fully support logistical work, serving as a strong backing for the students. Li Jiajun shared his own experience of taking the postgraduate entrance examination to motivate everyone, advising them to stay confident, identify and address weaknesses, and relax their minds.
Leaders from the school and teachers from the Workers’ Committee presented carefully prepared support packages to each student. Each item in the package had its special meaning, wishing every student success, completeness, and smooth progress in their examination. They had cordial conversations with the students, reminded them of the noticeable temperature drop, emphasized the importance of keeping warm, and encouraged them to adjust their mindset confidently facing the examination.
In his concluding speech, Zhang Mingping affirmed everyone’s hard work and efforts. He likened the postgraduate entrance examination to a marathon, stating that everyone had reached the sprint zone, and success was within reach with a little more effort. After enduring both the scorching heat and severe cold, spring was soon to arrive.
