On December 3, School of Foreign Languages Working Committee for the Care of the Next Generation held a meeting in the Meeting Room of the School of Foreign Languages. The meeting is aimed at studying and implementing the spirit of the Sixth Plenary Session of the CPC Nineteenth Central Committee. Xie Zhifang, SFL Party Committee Secretary and Working Committee for the Care of the Next Generation Director, presided over the meeting. The whole committee attended the meeting.
Based on their previous study of “Resolution of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on Major Achievements and Historical Experience of the Party's Centennial Struggle”, the whole committee held a collective study of the spirit of the Sixth Plenary Session of the CPC Nineteenth Central Committee and each made a speech concerning their understanding of the important resolution of the Party. Through this collective study, the Committee deepened their understanding and broadened their vision: The Sixth Plenary Session of the CPC Nineteenth Central Committee is an important landmark convention, and the “Resolution” adopted by the Plenary Session is a glorious programmatic document of Marxism; the “Resolution” is a political manifesto for the Chinese Communists in the new era, who keep in mind their original mission and pledge to adhere to and develop socialism with Chinese characteristics; it is a practical guideline for the realization of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation in the future.
In the course of exchanging learning experience, Xie Zhifang proposed that the SFL Working Committee should carefully study and deeply understand the rich connotations and core principles of the “Resolution” of the Sixth Plenary Session of the CPC Nineteenth Central Committee in accordance with the deployment and requirements of the UJS Party Committee and the UJS Working Committee for the Care of the Next Generation. He stressed that we should do three things well in light of the current situation: 1) we must earnestly organize veteran comrades, especially the leadership of the the Working Committee, to set the pace for the study movement and gain a deep and comprehensive understanding of the spirit of the Plenary Session; 2) we must hold special seminars and forums in line with the current activity of the Party History Education, to propagate the spirit of the Sixth Plenary Session to young faculty and students in various ways, to publicize the Party’s major achievements and historical experience in the centennial struggle, to care for young faculty and students, to pass on from generation to generation the glorious revolutionary tradition ; 3) we must effectively transform the spirit of the Sixth Plenary Session into the great impetus for the promotion of the work for the care of the next generation, improve the platform construction, create a distinctive brand, and strive to perfectly attain the objective of the Work Committee for the Care of the Next Generation.
