On November 13, the School of Foreign Languages Party Committee held the Forum for Non-Communist Party Members, Non-party Personages and Young Faculty Members in the School Meeting Room. Party Committee Secretary Lu Yunsong, Dean Li Chongyue and Party Committee United Front Commissar Wu Qinghong, as well as over 20 non-Communist party members, non-party personages and young faculty members, attended the meeting. Party Committee Secretary Lu Yunsong presided over the meeting.
At the meeting Dean Li Chongyue made a report on the specialty construction, discipline construction, and talent cultivation of the School at the present time. He noted the great contribution that has been made by non-Communist party members to the cause of the School, saying that the School Party Committee has long cherished the ideas and suggestions of the non-Communist party members. He extended hopes that all conferees would speak freely and offer suggestions on the future work of the School.
All the conferees spoke as had been expected. They sang praises for the leading role that has been played by the School in accomplishing the School objective. They made valuable suggestions on discipline construction, specialty construction, the construction of teaching and research teams, the growth of young faculty members, the internship of students, etc.
Party Committee Secretary Lu Yunsong extended heartfelt thanks to the conferees for the contribution they have made to the School. He hoped that the whole School faculty would strive to promote the core socialist values by adhering to the fundamental task of cultivating talents with virtues under the guidance of the gist of the 19th CPC and Xi Jinpin’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. The School would make a careful study of the opinions and suggestions of the conferees, constantly reinforce the School construction, further strengthen the communication and exchanges with non-Communist party members, non-party personages and young faculty members, join hands and make concerted efforts to push forward the development of various undertakings of the School, and make its contribution to the construction of Jiangsu University into a high-level research-oriented university.
