On November 7th, according to the deployment of Jiangsu University Party Committee on the theme education of “Remain True to Our Original Aspiration and Keep Firmly in Mind Our Mission”, School of Foreign Languages Deputy Dean Wang Ying delivers a Party lecture on the theme education in the Conference Room of the Main Building to delegates of the Party member of the faculty Party branches of the School of Foreign Languages.
The title of Wang’s lecture is “Keep in mind the central position of teaching and do a better job of laboratory construction and management”. Based on her own learning of and investigation for the theme education, she shared with the conferees her experience and understanding. In her lecture, she introduced the current situation, pointed out the existing problems, analyzed the causes for the problems, and offered solutions to the problems concerning the Laboratory (School of Foreign Languages Center). As teaching staff, she said, we should hold unswervingly to the ideal and belief of the socialism with Chinese characteristics, integrate our own ambition into the objectives of our country, nation and society, and struggle perseveringly for the welfare of the country and the happiness of the people. We should keep a foothold on our own duties, build up our own skills, shoulder our responsibilities bravely, are ready to sacrifice our own interests, and devote ourselves wholeheartedly to the educational cause of the Party. We should liberate our minds, update our concepts, take the initiative to practice, set the pace for the educational and teaching reform, boldly carry out the teaching reform and innovation, and do our best to enhance the teaching quality. In the meanwhile, we should reinforce our academic learning, constantly replenish our knowledge and adapt ourselves to the requirements for modern education and teaching. We should make lifelong efforts to obtain the objective and meet the requirements proposed by Secretary General Xi Jinping at the Talks with Staff and Students of Beijing Normal University for a good teacher with a great ideal and belief, high moral standards, a solid knowledge, and manly kindness. We should make lifelong efforts to make greater contribution to developing the modern education with Chinese characteristics at an international level, to cultivating the builders and successors of the socialist cause.
