On November 6th, according to the deployment of Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee on the theme education of “Remain True to Our Original Aspiration and Keep Firmly in Mind Our Mission” and the implementation planning of Jiangsu University on the theme education, the School of Foreign Languages Party Committee held Party lectures for leadership in A305 of the Main Building. The lectures were given by Party Committee Secretary Lu Yunsong and Dean Li Chongyue, respectively. Deputy Chief of the 8th Steering Committee of Jiangsu University on Theme Education & Development Office Deputy Director Wang Peng was present at the meeting to offer guidance. All faculty and student Party members of the School of Foreign Languages listened to the lectures. The forum was presided over by Party Committee Secretary Lu Yunsong.
Before the lectures, headed by Party Committee Secretary Lu Yunsong, all Party members brushed up on the Party oath solemnly in front of the Party flag with their clenched fists raised above their shoulders.
Party Committee Secretary Lu Yunsong and Dean Li Chongyue delivered their lectures respectively entitled “Improve the organization power of the Party branches of the School of Foreign Languages and dash ahead to promote the rapid development of the various undertakings of the School of Foreign Languages” and “Remain true to our original aspiration, keep firmly in mind our mission and promote the high-quality discipline construction of the School of Foreign Languages” in accordance with their investigation conducted a short time ago. The two speakers made an elaborate analysis on the existing problems in the organization power of the Party branches and the discipline construction of the School of Foreign Languages, pointed out the causes for these problems, and put forward countermeasures to solve these problems and planning on the future work according to the requirements of the theme education.
After listening to the lectures, the Party members viewed the educational films respectively entitled “32 Years on a Lonely Island” and “Promise”. They were deeply moved by the film protagonists Wang Jicai and Zhao Yafu for their lofty personality and spiritual outlook featuring loyalty to the belief, loyalty to the Party and loyalty to the people.
Through attending the Party lectures, the conferees further reinforced their conception of the Party spirit and deepened their ideological understanding. They all said that they would make the best efforts to learn and understand Xi Jinping’s Thought on the Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for the New Era, build a strong Party character, perfect their mastery of working skills, energetically promote the construction of Jiangsu University into a “double first-rate” high-level research-oriented university, and untiringly work for the realization of the Chinese dream of rejuvenating the great Chinese nation.
