On May 22, the School of Foreign Languages Party Committee organizes a Party Day activity with the theme of “Remain true to our original aspiration and keep your mission firmly mind” at the New Fourth Army Memorial Hall of Maoshan Mountain and the Museum of New Fourth Army Anti-corruption History. The leading members, part of the faculty and student Party members, and applicants for Party membership took part in the activity.
The faculty and students watched a publicity clip introducing the battles fought by the New Fourth Army against the Japanese aggression. Headed by Deputy Party Committee Secretary Xia Jianru, the Party members took oath solemnly before the Party banner by raising their right hands, reviewing the pledge they had taken when they were admitted to the Party. While listening attentively to the commentator, they visited the New Fourth Army Memorial Hall of Maoshan Mountain and the Museum of New Fourth Army Anti-corruption History. They looked at the revolutionary remains with reverence, placed a wreath at the foot of the Monument to the Victory of the War of Resistance Against the Japanese Aggression of South Jiangsu, revived their memory of our revolutionary martyrs by following the Iron Army Route, climbing the Eastern Plank Road of Maoshan Mountain, and listening to the reading of revolutionary letters. During these activities they were blessed with the grand patriotism of our revolutionary predecessors and the revolutionary heroism of theirs featuring the spirit of advancing bravely in the face of death. Moreover, they got a better understanding of the arduous history of our Party and the difficulty of the revolutionary victory so that they would better cherish the peaceful life of today. Meanwhile, they received a good traditional education highlighting the notions of iron confidence, iron discipline, iron morale, iron will, iron spirit, strict economy, and simple life.
The activity further reinforced the solidarity of the Party Committee, prompting all participants to carry forward the fine tradition of revolutionary predecessors, tempering their belief in Party principles, consolidating their political responsibility and historical mission, being well established in their jobs and becoming a lofty, honest and self-disciplined employee, giving full play to the pioneering role of a Party member, and doing their own contributions to the construction of Jiangsu University into a top-level research-oriented international university with its unique features.
