On the afternoon of April 3, in order to get fully prepared for the authentication of English for Education (TESOL), the School of Foreign Languages invited Member of the Advisory Committee for the Instruction of English Majors under the Chinese Ministry of Education, Yangzhou University School of Foreign Languages Dean, PhD Supervisor Wang Jinquan to give a lecture in Z513, which is entitled “Giving Priority to Theory and Implementing the Criteria One by One--Conducting the authentication of English for Education steadily and surely”. The lecture was presided over by the School of Foreign Languages Dean Li Chongyue. More than 50 faculty members of the School of Foreign Languages and the School of Teacher Education listened to the lecture attentively.
Dean Wang Jinquan first explored the value and significance of the authentication of normal education from the perspective of the national policy of “Rejuvenating the Teacher Education”. Then he introduced the authentication criteria for the teacher education, expounding the concept of “product-oriented education”, analyzing the objective, basic principles and kernel connotation of the authentication, interpreting the secondary authentication indicators, comparing and contrasting the professional accreditation and the professional auditing, and finally pointing out the differences between the authentication criteria of Jiangsu province and those of the Ministry of Education and the differences between the 2018 version and the previous versions. To conclude his lecture, Dean Wang Jinquan shared Yangzhou University’s experience of the authentication with the audience, offering constructive suggestions to and nailing down the key orientations for the School of Foreign Languages, Jiangsu University.
After the lecture, Dean Wang Jinquan held a talk with the Normal Education Authentication Team of the School of Foreign Languages. He meticulously answered the questions raised by the team members about the authentication and its concrete implementation.
The lecture by Dean Wang helped clarify the conception of the School of Foreign Languages on the normal education authentication and shed light on the future effort that might be made to embrace the authentication. (School of Foreign Languages)
