On the morning of March 20, Vice President Zhao Yutao attended the Joint Party and Administration Meeting and the Seminar on the Implementation of 2019 tasks of the School of Foreign Languages.
At the meeting, the SFL Dean Li Chongyue presented the report entitled “Objective of and Strategies for Implementing the Gist of the 4th Congress of Jiangsu University Party Committee and the Work Plan on the Year of 2019 of the School of Foreign Languages” on behalf of the School of Foreign Languages Party Committee and Administration. The Objective of and Strategies for Implementing the Gist of the 4th Congress of Jiangsu University Party Committee and the Work Plan on the Year of 2019 of the School of Foreign Languages was formulated through the in-depth discussion of the School Party and administrative leading group in view of the current situation of the School and by focusing on the key tasks of teaching, research, discipline, faculty and internationalization of the University for the coming 5 years. Party Committee Secretary Lu Yunsong made a report on the Party construction and Party conduct and clean government. Other leaders of the School at the meeting made reports on their duties respectively.
Vice President Zhao Yutao was strong affirmative in commenting on the Party construction and educational development of the School in recent years, putting forward unequivocal requirements and extended great hopes for the School work in the future. Vice President Zhao went on to point out, the formulation of the School plan on future development must be problem-oriented and objective-driven so that the concrete objective will return to quicken the development and each group or individual will be entrusted with its own duty. The School of Foreign Languages must look beyond “language” and strive to meet the strategic needs of our nation by means of “Language +”; the IETLS/TOEFL teaching must be made available to more students and faculty and the passing rate must be raised. The leading group of the School of Foreign Languages said that they will fortify their first-class consciousness, hold onto the objective, and strive to crack the hard nuts they might be confronted in the course of writing a new chapter for the cause of the School in accordance with the instructions of Vice President Zhao.
