On the afternoon of December 7, the award ceremony for Jiangsu finals of the 9th “SFLEP Cup” National College Foreign Language Teaching (Microlecture) Competition was held in Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology. SFL Ms. Wang Ying emerged out of the strict reviewing of the panelists and the organizing committee of the competition, coming out first in the second prize winners of the minor foreign languages group for the ingenuous teaching design, the fluent Japanese expression, and the consummate visual effect of her microlecture entitled “Introduction to Japanese Honorifics”.
The “SFLEP Cup” National College Foreign Language Teaching (Microlecture) Competition for Jiangsu Participants is jointly hosted by Shanghai Foreign Language Education Press and the Association for Jiangsu College Foreign Language Teaching under the guidance of the Higher Education Office under Jiangsu Department of Education. The competition is aimed at prompting Jiangsu college foreign language teachers to actively update their teaching notion and teaching methods, to voluntarily participate in the construction of digital teaching resources like microlecture, to adopt new models for their classroom instruction, to further enhance their teaching effectiveness, and to establish an excellent platform for learning exchanges on college foreign language teaching reform and development. This year’s microlecture competition is done in five foreign languages, that is English, Japanese, German, Russian and French. The microlecture items submitted to the organizing committee add up to 74. All the works are reviewed by the panelists carefully from the perspectives of teaching content, teaching design, production skills, and overall effect. Ms. Wang won the prize for her conscientious work on the production of her microlecture entitled “Introduction to Japanese Honorifics”, demonstrating the graceful bearing of her own and the high-level foreign language teaching of the School of Foreign Languages as well.
