One the afternoon of May 31, the School of Foreign Languages held a Consultation Meeting for Members of Non-Communist Parties and Non-Party Personages in the School Meeting Room. The meeting was chaired by Party Committee Secretary Lu Yunsong. The administrative leaders, the Party’s United Front members, members of non-communist parties and non-party personages of the School attended the meeting.
At the meeting, Party Committee Secretary Lu Yunsong first extended thanks to the constant support and contributions to the School of the non-communist parties and non-party personages members. He solicited opinions and suggestions from the participants on the future development of the School. All the participants actively offered their advice on how to develop the SFL better and faster with reference to their own work. They put forward many good ideas in an enthused atmosphere.
The School Party United Front member, Professor Wu Qinghong passed on the gist of the Trainee Meeting for Secondary-level Party United Front Members and Workers of Jiangsu University.
In her speech, Dean Chen Hong called on the participants to keep in mind the initial mission of “cultivating talents with high moral standards”, laying more stress on “cultivating the character” than on “inculcating the knowledge”. She also asked the participants to make efforts to cultivate the ethically proper concept of values, the contextualized requisite personality, the action-driven key capabilities, to cultivate and implement the core socialist values, and accomplish the fundamental tasks of cultivating talents with high moral standards.
In the end, Party Committee Secretary Lu Yunsong extended thanks to the participants for their constant support and contributions to School, calling on them to conscientiously study the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress, constantly replenish their minds with Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese characteristics for the New Era, study, think and work hard at their own posts in an innovative manner to make greater achievements of their own and better contributions to the construction of Jiangsu University into a high-level university and to the various undertakings of the School of Foreign Languages.
