On June 6, the School of Foreign Languages held the Pairing Conference on Cultivating a Faculty Party Branch Secretary into the “Double Pace-setter” in the School Meeting Room. The meeting was chaired by Party Committee Secretary Lu Yunsong. The administrative leaders, Party Committee members, Faculty Party Branch secretaries of the School attended the meeting.
Party Secretary Lu Yunsong started the meeting with studying the spirit of “Jiangsu University’s Opinions on Implementing the Project on Promoting the Cultivation of Faculty Party Branch Secretaries into “Double Pace-setters”. According to Lu, the SFL thought highly of the project of cultivating faculty Party branch secretaries into “double pace-setters”, having included it into the School planning on Party construction and applied for a “Party Secretary Project” based on this plan, and having scientifically and systematically contrived all matters involved. Lu continued, we should take care of the work and growth of the faculty Party branch secretaries, exerting greater efforts to offer them full support in work, politics, career development and responsibilities.
To highlight precise and varied cultivation, the School Party Committee has arranged for School leaders and Party Committee members with excellent performance in academic studies to be paired with the faculty Party branch secretaries, heading them to expand their academic vision, further define their career objectives, and play a leading role in organizing and educating Party members and rallying the faculty and students so that we can realize the promotion and enhancement of both the grassroots Party construction and teaching and research work.
In her speech, Dean Chen Hong sang a high praise for the pairing program, calling on the faculty Party branch secretaries to integrate the Party construction into the teaching and research work, seek the bonding point where they meet and fix the road map for the the cultivation of “double pace-setters”. She expected the faculty Party branch secretaries to quickly fix their academic identity and course role in a research or teaching team; to actively participate in symposiums and teaching competitions of various kinds; to formulate their planning on enhancing their academic qualifications and professional titles and furthering their studies abroad. She promised that the School will do its best to provide support to help them grow both politically and academically so that their Party work capability and their academic and professional capability will be elevated all together and in the same direction.
Other leaders and Party Committee members also said they would exert their efforts to help the faculty Party branch secretaries, who said they would make their own plans as soon as possible so that they would play a leading role in organizing and educating Party members and rallying the faculty and students, and realize the promotion and enhancement of both the grassroots Party construction and teaching and research work.
