On the afternoon of June 6, the School of Foreign Languages held the Great Debate Rally on Advancing Development through Ideological Emancipation in the School Meeting Room. The meeting was chaired by Party Committee Secretary Lu Yunsong. The administrative leaders, Party Committee members, Party Branch secretaries of the School attended the meeting.
At the meeting Party Committee Secretary Lu Yunsong passed on the spirit of Jiangsu University Great Debate Rally on Advancing Development through Ideological Emancipation, expounding the SFL’s planning on carrying out the great campaign on advancing development through liberating the minds of the School faculty. Lu said, the School of Foreign Languages, said Lu, will carry out a great debate on how to further promote the development the cause of the School through the ideological liberation, highlighting the theme “Ideological Emancipation, Deepened Reform, Race to the Top, and Further Development”. We will, continued Lu, integrate the debate on advancing development through ideological emancipation into the development of the School causes, solicit advice by multiple means from the faculty and students, especially their opinions and suggestions on the construction of Jiangsu University into a “double first-class” high-level research-oriented university and on the construction of the SFL in discipline, programs and courses, and make the best of the wits of all people in all aspects. Dean Chen Hong then delivered a speech, in which she called on the participants to locate the existing problems, analyze the causes for these problems, work out concrete solutions to them, tease out valuable suggestions among the many offered by the faculty and students, turn the consensus that has been struck in the great debate into tangible measures for the advancement of the construction of Jiangsu University into a “double first-class” high-level research-oriented university and the construction of the SFL in discipline, programs and courses, and turn all these efforts into the wisdom and power for the cultivation of talents with high moral standards and the development of the educational cause to the satisfaction of the people at large.
In the end, Party Committee Secretary Lu Yunsong prompted the participants to study harder, fortify their belief, rally their strength, persistently reinforce their motive to reform and renovate and the consciousness to take responsibility, take the initiative to find out where they have lagged behind, to voice their opinions and to offer their suggestions, and make sure that the achievements that have been made in the great debate will be transformed into concrete actions to solve the existing problems and enhance all causes of the School.
