From April 9th to April 10th, Director Zhou Danyi of the College English Teaching Faculty at the School of Foreign Languages, Nanjing Medical University headed their key English teachers to visit Jiangsu University for the purpose of learning and exchanging the experiences of College English teaching reform and faculty construction under the new circumstances.
On the afternoon of April 9th, Dean Assistant Wu Peng gathered leaders of the two College English departments, the Clinic for Foreign Languages Learning and the Center for International Language Courses to convene a meeting for sharing experiences, where he introduced in detail the brand-new College English curriculum of Jiangsu University and its featured teaching notion and model for academic English, focusing on the successful operation of two novel teaching and research institutions respectively called the Clinic for Foreign Languages Learning and the Center for International Language Courses, as well as the experience of training College English teachers.
On the morning of April 10th, Director Zhou Danyi and other visiting teachers walked into the classroom to listen to and observe the four featured lessons, namely the “IELTS” taught by Ms. Kong Lingxuan, the “Graduate Matriculation Test for English” taught by Ms. Wu Aihui, the “English for Academic Purposes (Listening and Speaking)” taught by Li Rui and the “English for Academic Purposes (Reading and Writing” taught by Lu Mulin. After the class, the visiting teachers and the four teachers of the School conducted in-depth exchanges on the teaching concepts of their featured courses.
Director Zhou Danyi spoke highly of the fruitful results that had been achieved by the School in the curriculum construction of College English, saying that they had learned a lot during the visit and extending the hope that that the two parties would further strengthen exchanges and cooperation in future.
