On the morning of January 18, the School of Foreign Languages held a Briefing for Party Branch Secretaries. Party Committee Secretary Lu Yunsong, Deputy Party Committee Secretary and Deputy Dean Xia Jianru and all Party branch secretaries of the School attended the meeting chaired by Comrade Lu Yunsong.
In the School of Foreign Languages, there are 6 Party branches for faculty and staff, 3 for postgraduates, and 2 for undergraduates. At the meeting, each secretary conscientiously summed up their work at the Party construction of their branch in 2017 from the perspectives of ideological construction, organizational construction, the maintaining of clean government and Party and administrative disciplines, and the exertion of their efforts. The briefings made by the secretaries focused on both the characteristics and spotlights and the shortcomings of their work, in the meanwhile proposing the measures for future rectification and greater exertion. After the briefing were done, Party Committee Secretary Lu Yunsong commented on the report of each Party branch secretary. While he gave credit to the achievements that had been made in the past, he also put forward his requirements and hopes for the future work. Secretary Lu hoped that each Party branch would further reinforce their political and theoretical study, better study and implement the gist of the 19th CPC National Congress, raise their political stance, further implement the basic organizational life system featuring “three meetings and one lesson”, constantly strengthen “four consciousnesses”, firmly uphold “four confidences”, put more emphasis on the study on Party construction, lay a solid foundation for daily work, strive to promote the organizational life quality, bring into full and better play the role of the Party branch as a bastion and the role of a Party member as a paragon pioneer, and strive to make more contributions to the work of constructing Jiangsu University into a high-level university of the world and to the development of all the subjects of the School of Foreign Languages.
