Recently, the results of the national TEM-4 (Test for English Majors-Band 4) exam were released, and the English major students of Class 2022 in the School of Foreign Languages,, achieved excellent results. A total of 136 students from the English and English Teaching majors participated in this exam for the first time, with a first-time pass rate of 97.06%. Among them, the proportion of students achieving good to excellent grades reached 78%, far exceeding the national average.
The Test for English Majors-Band 4 (TEM-4), initiated in 1990 under the guidance of the Foreign Language Teaching Guidance Committee of the Ministry of Education, is an internal teaching evaluation test for English majors in higher education institutions. It serves as a test for the foundational stage of English majors and is targeted at second-year undergraduate students of English majors. This test has become an important indicator for evaluating the teaching quality of undergraduate programs at the foundational stage for English majors in higher education institutions.
