November 19, JU Division 1st “Sakura Cup” Japanese Talents Contest for Jiangsu College Students was held in J210. School of Foreign Languages Party Committee Secretary Lu Yunsong and Deputy Dean Su Jianhong watched the competition.
The contest commenced with Deputy Dean Su Jianhong delivering an opening ceremony speech. Su welcomed the delegates of Jiangsu University of Science and Technology on behalf of the School of Foreign Languages, JU, thanking Skura International for its support to the contest, and hoped that all delegates would win good results. Then the 11 contestants from various schools of JU and the 8 contestants from Jiangsu University of Science and Technology went onto the stage where they had a fierce rivalry with each other. The contestants’ wonderful talent performance, including Japanese songs, Japanese dubbing, Japanese comic sketches, Cosplay, dance, etc. made the contest ever more exhilarating. The eye-catching boosters of Jiangsu University of Science and Technology, the Japanese style of the anchorpersons and their fluent Japanese all impressed the audience greatly. During the competition breaks, Ms. Guo Tingting and Mr. Li Song of Sakura International sent out red packets via WeChat on the spot for all the audience to pick up.
The contest was done in a jovial and light-hearted atmosphere. Through the strictly audited scoring of 6 panelists, JU contestants finally won all first, second and third prizes of 5 of the total 6 awards.
This contest enriched the extracurricular life of JS students, playing an important role in promoting the Japanese proficiency of the students and the cultivation of Japanese talents with versatile skills. In the meanwhile, it laid a good foundation in constructing a platform on which the Japanese majors might show themselves, cultivate themselves and elevate themselves.
The contest was undertaken by the School of Foreign Languages, Jiangsu University, with assistance from Jiangsu University Sakura Society and the School of Foreign Languages, Jiangsu University of Science and Technology. Contestants who won the first prize at the contest will participate in the finals to be held in Nanjing University of Science and Technology on December 17, 2017.
