A Teaching Salon Event Held by SFL

On the afternoon of April 17th, a university-level teaching salon hosted by the Teacher &Teaching Development Center and organized by the School of Foreign Languages was held in the 4404 Smart Classroom of Jingjiang Building. The theme of this salon is "Innovation in Foreign Language Classroom Teaching Design and Teaching Demonstration", and the event was chaired by  Ji Yan , Director of the Subject Competition Center. Professors Zhang Lin, Su Jianhong, Chen Xin, Wu Qinghong, and Li Rui were invited to serve as judges and commentators.

At the beginning of the event, Vice Dean Li Jiajun introduced the original intention of the activity, which is to improve classroom teaching design, promote the application of digital technology, and empower foreign language teaching and learning on the basis of maintaining good teaching order in the college. Teaching presentations are divided into micro lesson teaching group and "Teaching Star" competition group. In the micro lesson teaching group, Japanese teacher Lu Xueying and English teacher Yao Wei showcased teaching micro lessons, while European language teacher Zhu Xiaoyan showcased live micro lessons.

English teachers Zhang Yan and Zhuang Xiaomin, as well as Ma Ying and Lai Cencen, respectively represented two teams to introduce and showcase their teaching designs.

After the teaching presentation, Professor Su Jianhong and former "Teaching Star" winner Li Rui respectively commented on the teaching presentation on behalf of senior teachers and young teachers, affirming the efforts and common strengths of all teachers in preparing for the competition, while also making some suggestions for further improvement and polishing.

Teaching design is an important part of innovative foreign language classroom teaching. In the era of digital intelligence, digital literacy of foreign language teachers is an important component of their teaching ability. The School of Foreign Languages will strengthen the cultivation and training of teachers' digital literacy, and promote the introduction of artificial intelligence technology into foreign language teaching.
