November 8, in order to further study, understand and implement Xi Jinping’s thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era and explore the precise ways and means for publicizing globally Xi Jinping’s thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era, the School of Foreign Languages established the “Society for the International Communication of Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era” in accordance with the resolution made by a Party-administration meeting of the School.
The newly established Society shall carry out research under the leadership of the Party Committee of the School by gathering the Party members, key researchers and young faculties of the School to jointly study and grasp the gist of Xi Jinping’s thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era. By enlisting the help of the School’s researchers devoted to diplomatic discourse, translation studies, pragma-dialectics and international communication, the Society shall explore the effective means for the global publicity of Xi Jinping’s thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era. Meanwhile, the Society shall, by systematically tapping the ideological and political resources of foreign language courses, cultivate and select a team of foreign language faculties with outstanding teaching performance who can both master and impart Xi Jinping’s thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era.
The joint meeting also decided that a working team should be established and affiliated to the Society to take charge of the concrete design, implementation and evaluation of various tasks assigned to the Society. Wu Peng, assistant dean of the School of Foreign Languages, serves as team leader.
