Days ago, the results of 2017 TEM-4 were published. Grade 2015 students of the School of Foreign Languages got a fairly high one-time pass rate of 88.24% in the unified test for English majors in China. The pass rate of JSU students is 39.7% higher than the average pass rate (48.54%) of all students of colleges and universities in China and 30.98% higher than the average pass rate (57.26%) of all students of science and engineering colleges and universities in China.
Among the total 102 Grade 2015 English undergraduates of the School of Foreign Languages that sat for the exam, 11 students got scores of the “excellent” level (10.78%) and 33 scores of the “good” level (32.35%), adding up to a good and excellent rate of 43.13%, a record high in the School history
In recent years, the English Department, the School of Foreign Languages, has paid special attention to the details of English teaching, to implementing on a full scale the teaching guideline of the School that features “precision, elaboration and meticulousness”. The excellent performance of the English majors in this year’s TEM-4 marks the joint efforts that have been made by students and faculty of the English Department. In future the English Department will highlight creating a better learning atmosphere, holding more extracurricular activities and exerting the best effort to consolidate the professional basic skills of the English majors.
