Implementation Rules for Students’ Safety Education of the School of Foreign Languages of Jiangsu University
Article 1 In order to ensure the personal and property safety of the undergraduates and postgraduates of the School of Foreign Languages, these implementation rules are hereby formulated in accordance with the enrollment and teaching characteristics of the School of Foreign Languages.
Article 2 These rules are applicable to all undergraduates and postgraduates in guiding and administering the life and study safety of all students of the School of Foreign Languages.
Article 3 In view of the teaching and enrollment characteristics of the School of Foreign Languages, each enrolled freshman shall participate in the class-based safety education of two hours for each academic year, and sign the Letter of Commitment for the Students’ Safety of the School of Foreign Languages (see Attachment 1 for details) each semester collectively in a class, which shall be kept by the College accordingly.
Article 4 The two hours for safety education consists of: “1. Safety lecture on power supply and fire prevention” and “2. Lecture on how to guard against fraud by strengthening ideological safety”.
Article 5 The lecture on the safety of power supply and fire prevention is aimed at telling students how to use electric power safely in their study and life, enrich students' knowledge of power supply and fire prevention as much as possible, and raise students’ subjective consciousness of safety. This lecture that lasts for one hour will be given by a teacher appointed by the Laboratory (see Attachment 2 for the specific contents of the course).
Article 6 The lecture on ideological safety is aimed at guiding students how to live their life in this new stage, safeguarding their life on campus at the ideological level. The one-hour lecture will be taught by a special tutor appointed by the School.
Article 7 After the completion of the two-hour safety course, the students of each class shall sign the Safety Commitment according to the requirements, and make a pledge to use their dormitory electricity safely, to guard against fire in the dormitory, and to observe the regulations on the safety of the Language Laboratory. Students who refuse to sign the letter of commitment shall not be granted access to any laboratory or research institute.
Article 8 Students who violate the safety rules for various dormitories, language laboratories and other places shall be cautioned and punished, who have to retake the two-hour training according to related requirements and sign the safety commitment individually. Those who refuse to correct their errors after repeated education shall be strictly punished by the School in view of the severity of their errors.
Article 9 The matters not covered in these rules or inconsistent with national laws and regulations shall be implemented in accordance with relevant national laws and regulations.
Article 10 These rules shall be subject to the interpretation of the School of Foreign Languages.
Article 11 These rules shall come into force as of June 14, 2019.
