On March 9, the School of Foreign Languages held “Sino-German Language and Culture Center Annual Work Promotion Video Conference”. Dean Li Chongyue presided over the meeting. Deputy Deans Zhang Lin and Wang Ying, as well as Director Yang Jing of Sino-German Language and Culture Center, attended the video conference.
First, Director Yang Jing of Sino-German Language and Culture Center made a report to the meeting on the current operation and future plan of the Center. Based on his experience of many years of working at the University of Graz in Austria, Deputy Dean Zhang Lin analyzed the feasibility of expanding the channels for cooperation with the University of Graz. Deputy Dean Wang Ying introduced her prospect on future work by resorting to her past working experiences and her online investigation in recent times on related institutions. Then Dean Li Chongyue made an affirmative comment on the current work of the Sino-German Language and Culture Center, making pertinent and constructive suggestions on the future work of the Center in the light of the joint efforts that have been made by Jiangsu University and the University of Graz to build the Confucius Institute. He clarified the key jobs and future work orientation for the Center in 2020.
The Sino-German Language and Culture Center should posit its future work on providing services for the faculty and students of Jiangsu University, promoting the research capability of its faculty, and conducting scientific cooperation at a higher level, remarked Dean Li Chongyue. In the meanwhile, the Center should offer to help teachers to work in German-speaking countries with their efforts to overcome the language barrier, to actively explore the inter-University cooperation through multiple channels and in a wide range of fields, to conduct exchanges and cooperation on multiple levels and in broad areas, and to play an active role in promoting the internalization of Jiangsu University and the foreign cooperation and communication of the School.
