Recently, the inaugural meeting of the World Political Party Think Tank Cooperation Association, along with the Academic Seminar on Party Politics, was held in Beijing. Vice President Chen Hong, Director of the Global Development and Security Research Institute Xu Bu, and Dean of the School of Foreign Languages Li Chongyue were invited to attend. The Global Development and Security Research Institute of JSU was admitted as a governing member of the World Political Party Think Tank Cooperation Association, which includes eight governing members in total.
Chen Hong represented JSU at the council meeting and delivered a speech, introducing the university and the development of its related disciplines. She expressed JSU’s commitment to actively participating in the construction of the World Political Party Think Tank Cooperation Association. At the closing ceremony, Xu Bu delivered a summary speech on behalf of the second sub-forum, themed “New Trends in the Development of World Political Parties from the Perspective of the Super Election Year.”
The event was co-hosted by the Institute of World Political Parties under the International Department of the CPC Central Committee and Beijing Foreign Studies University. It was attended by Chen Zhou, Vice Minister of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee; Qiu Xin, Party Secretary of Fudan University; Zhang Donggang, Party Secretary of Renmin University of China; Wang Dinghua, Party Secretary of Beijing Foreign Studies University; and over 180 participants, including scholars from think tanks, Communist Party theory cadres, and representatives from domestic universities and think tanks. The attendees came from more than 40 countries, including Tanzania, South Africa, Bangladesh, Mongolia, Chile, the United Kingdom, and France.
In his keynote speech, Chen Zhou stated that the establishment of the World Political Party Think Tank Cooperation Association aims to create an open, inclusive, and collaborative platform for political party think tanks worldwide. This platform seeks to pool wisdom and strength for global development, enhance mutual understanding and trust among political parties, and improve their capabilities. International participants highlighted that the Association provides an essential platform for fostering intellectual dialogue and policy communication among political party think tanks globally. They expressed their willingness to leverage the expertise of think tanks to promote political party cooperation, advance common progress, enhance governance capabilities, and improve the well-being of people in various countries.
