On the afternoon of March 28, Dr. Wu Daoping, Grade 78 graduate of English for Education of JSU visited the School of Foreign Languages. Talks were held between Dr. Wu and leaders of the School of Foreign Languages.
On behalf of Jiangsu University, Party Secretary Lu Yunsong extended a warm welcome to Dr. Wu Daoping for a visit to his alma mater, hoping that Dr. Wu would pay more visits to and give more support to Jiangsu University. Dean Chen Hong introduced to Dr. Wu Daoping the outstanding achievements that have been made in recent years by Jiangsu University and the School of Foreign Languages as well. She also noted the international strategy advocated by Jiangsu University.
Dr. Wu Daoping started to work for a MA degree in the Institute of Language, Fudan University in 1982, and then continued to work for a PhD in the University of Maryland in 1987. Currently he is an IT specialist at the Federal Department of Health and Human Resources in charge of the maintenance of medical insurance database. Dr. Wu Daoping recounted with emotions his youth life in Jiangsu University, extending his thanks to the teachers who had taken pains to teach him and saying that he would go all out to support the development of Jiangsu University and the School of Foreign Languages. He was willing to bridge the cooperation between Jiangsu University and the University of Maryland in scientific researches, student exchange, teachers’ short-term training overseas etc. (School of Foreign Languages)
