April 22, the 6th National Interpretation Competition (Jiangsu Division) was officially held in Liuyuan campus of Nanjing Normal University. 3 students participated in the contest on behalf of Jiangsu University. Through fierce rivalry with other competitors, Ye Xiaohan of Jiangsu University won a third prize and was elected into the team that would participate in East China Competition on behalf of students of Jiangsu province. What’s more, Liu Junyan and Yi Xinyu of Jiangsu University each won an excellent prize.
The 2017 Competition sponsored by China Translators Association was undertaken by Nanjing Normal University. More than 160 students from all over Jiangsu province participated in the fierce competition that have attracted the most excellent competitors. The Competition comprises of the knockout in the morning and the final in the afternoon. The three students of Jiangsu University did honor to Jiangsu University by exhibiting their interpreting capability with ease and composure.
The National Interpretation Competition is one of the most influential competitions of Chinese institutions of higher learning. It is held to meet the ever increasing need of China for international exchanges, to cultivate high-quality language service talents, to promote the overall development of college English teaching and to provide students with a platform to improve their language learning and use. The School of Foreign Languages, JSU, has thought highly of this competition ever since its inception, arranging for interested students to participate in it each year. In the earlier days of April, the School of Foreign Languages held a series of competitions in which the best competitors were fairly chosen to attend the provincial competition.
